First Thursday Open Thread in BackTalkVillage!

Hello, Balkers!
I figured I'd kick off making our first official Thursday Edition Open Thread.
How's everyone doing today? Is Kinja still alive & kicking?

Is It Just Me Or ...

Has the anticipated probably-inevitable happened? I cannot seem to get into Backtalk nor Groupthink, but 'real' Kinja sites like Jezebel load fine. This could be a temporary glitch ... or something more sinister.

Is Anyone Waiting for an Invite?

Is anyone waiting to get added either here or at the reddit spot? It looks like we might have a little time to figure out what works and what doesn't, so I'd like to get people added to see how that all shakes down.

Obviously, this is far superior as far as writing actual posts and articles goes. Reddit definitely excels at the discussion aspect.

Maybe I'm petty but this brought me such joy

And in Backtalk Village news, It was pointed out to me that Followers was showing names so I removed that from the blog. Not sure what it's pulling from. I have a three day weekend so I should be able to actually do research and planning. I also cleaned up a few other things like two Search widgets.

ETA:  So it looks like you need a gmail account to post here. I have, like, six of them and use two plus my youtube channel but not everyone is a weirdo like me* so that's a deal breaker for the crowd we can kill this site and look elsewhere for new home for our village.

Should we decide to stay, I will happily add Owl and less happily add Snacks as administrators as well as anyone who wants to make this place pretty and stuff. Once this site is more less up and running, I can transfer ownership of this place to whichever one wants it. Because I'm a minimalist. Except when it comes to accounts.

1. Enter the email address of the person you want to add.
2. Click Invite authors.

After they accept the invitation, they'll be listed as an author. You can add up to 100 total members (authors, administrators, or readers) to your blog.

Note: To manage and post to blogs, invited authors or administrators will need a Google Account.

*We all know I'm my own special kind of weirdo and you're just jealous.
