Good evening.

TGIFFF! I spent a lot of time out of my comfort zone lately. In the company of hoomans. Where, just like last week's fur faces, I met some new people and reconnected with old friends. Which reminded me of a Girl Scout camp song. Make new friends...

Did all my errands today, and a couple more that I thought of while I was going to and from.
I'm starting to organise my thoughts about what I need to take to the cottage. I haven't tested the steripen yet, to see if I broke it on the way home, but if it does work, that saves me having to transport 20 litres of water across in the row boat and up through the forest from the boat landing. I'm hoping I can reduce things down so that I only have to make one trip in the boat, rather than the usual two. So I'm cutting down on things like cans, and dairy and will opt for dried stuff as much as possible, so dried soups instead of canned, etc.
The Sun over the Lake looked pretty trippy yesterday with all the smoke in the air. How’s your day going Backtalk?
Boy, sometimes I think this month will never end. I was reading about Lena Horne a few days ago - her birthday is this Friday, January 181st - which led me to read about her daughter Gail Buckley who was married to Sidney Lumet until 1978, and then their kids, specifically Jenny Lumet. Several discursions later I ended up here:
They don’t need to be taken with a fancy camera or works of art. Share any SFW photos you’ve taken with even the poorest of potatoes. Of course we love to see that arty stuff too.
Hullo and welcome to another weekend-ish moment in this weary world. May our angels watch over us all.
Welcome back to another edition of Fur Face Friday. Last week was all about leisure time. But our furry friends work hard too. Here we have k2b's Lal and Ruh sharing sentry duty.
I've got mostly nothing; still tired from the last two days, but treated myself to a lemon cranberry scone for breakfast (nobody gets between OWYAC and her scones!) and cheese popcorn for lunch.
And unfortunately, it looks like the search for the Titan sub has come to an end. A sad conclusion, but what hubris. It's like these foolish rich guys thought that their wealth and privilege would protect them from the laws of physics and common sense wasn't necessary.

Open thread time. What’s on your mind this morning?
Good evening. Hope this day worked out in your favor. Which book is this image from? I believe this is from the first twenty pages or so.

Hello and welcome to your weekly dose of adorableness, Fur Face Friday! This last week our fur friends in the comments were giving lessons in how to enjoy life to the fullest.

I have been a slug all day; I was going to have a nap, but I couldn't even get around to that!
Kia is getting better as the day goes on and under the heading of "baby steps", she stood up and got out of her bed by herself with no assistance from me, as I was sitting about 4 ft away. I think she's tired of being in her bed.
I made a reddit post on the Kelpie subreddit warning owners of older dogs of what to look out for with this vestibular disease. I'd never heard of it until now, because I've never had a dog make it to much more than 11, but it turns out that it's fairly common in older dogs.
