So in a quick today in history run down

In 1903 in France the Lebaudy Brothers set a then world record for miles traveled in the air, 34 miles in a dirigible.

1960 the satellite Discoverer XVII is launched from California.

Jump ahead 8 years and the US Supreme Court voids Arkansas’s Law outlawing teaching evolution in schools.

1971 Richard Nixon announces the withdrawal of 45 thousand troops from Vietnam 

1984 Astronauts on the space shuttle Discovery completed the first space salvage when they snagged the satellite Palapa B-2 from orbit.
