Tuesday Haiku

 Winter solitude:
A world awash in white
The sound of the wind

―Matsuo Basho

Time for our weekly poetry break. Write your own poem, limerick, haiku, or senryū inspired by anything you’d like. Or if you’d prefer, share a poem written by someone else.

while back k2b discovered the style of poetry Balkers commonly write is technically called senryū.

Wikipedia definition for “Senryū : (川柳, literally 'river willow') is a Japanese form of short poetry similar to haiku in construction. Senryū tend to be about human foibles while haiku tend to be about nature, and senryū are often cynical or darkly humorous while haiku are more serious. Unlike haiku, senryū do not include a kireji(cutting word), and do not generally include a kigo, or season word.”

If you need some help crafting your haiku or senryū, here’s the haiku generator : https://www.poem-generator.org.uk/haiku/
