Friday Morning Open Thread

I'd better win the lottery this weekend because I think I've found the future Backtalk Village.

The motel home of the Rose family in the Emmy-sweeping Canadian TV series Schitt’s Creek is up for sale for C$2m.

10-room motel sits on 2.7 ha (6.7 acres) of land along Hockley Road, about 90 minutes’ drive from Toronto, with the building covering 400 sq m (4,300 square feet). It also has a two-storey “manager’s suite” and separate cottage.

Surrounded by forest, the property backs on to the Nottawasaga River, which is known for its rainbow trout.

The listing is HERE.

With that much acreage, I'm thinking we could build a series of small (but not tiny) energy efficient cottages far enough away from each other that we don't need to actually socialize if we're not in the mood. But close enough that we can when we want to. Then the hotel can be for when we want to have guests so the cottages won't need guest rooms.  Maybe a couple of offices/music rooms/reading rooms. Once Canada lets us in anyway.

Now I just need to win the lottery tonight so this can happen.
