Tuesday Haiku

Dead, my old fine hopes

And dry, my dreaming, but still...

Iris, blue, each spring.

-Shushiki

The hopeful nature of spring’s blooms contrast against the lost hopes and dreams of seasons past. A beautiful contradiction.
