  • 1648: Margaret Jones of Plymouth is sentenced to death by hanging for witchcraft.
  • 1846: The USA declares war on Mexico.
  • 1937: Three children report seeing the Virgin Mary in Fatima Portugal.  It's rumored the Vatican stills has the messages and predictions they received in a vault today.
  • 1940: Winston Churchill addresses the House of Commons for the first time as PM. "I have nothing to offer but blood, toils, tears, and sweat"
  • 1968:  The USA and North Vietnam start peace talks in Paris.
  • 1981: John Paul II survives a assassination attempt in Vatican City.
  • 1989: 2000 students start a hunger strike in Tiananmen Square, China.
