mentioned in comments that JFree (Jeffrey) Wright’s name is in contention for
that Best Actor nomination for American Fiction (which I haven’t seen yet; I
keep talking about it bc I’m doing my best to try to remember to see it when it
comes out (as I feel like I’ve learned that if I don’t see something right away
these days, I won’t see it till it shows up on streaming channels if whatever
it is is something that’s even available in that medium).
I think
that’s a great thing bc imo it’s been long-deserved (I won’t go again into how
long we had to wait between Malcolm X and *sigh* Training Day).
But we by
no means want to limit it to work we believe should be (and has long deserved
to be) recognized -- sky’s the limit as
far as good things
