Oh Wednesday, Oh Wednesday, OT Wednesday

Young kid's grades for three classes are below C level. Several incomplete assignments in Social Studies, French, and Language Arts. I told her it's unacceptable to flunk a class in public school for Pete's sake. That takes serious disabilities or at the very least, a colossal lack of effort. Warned her that "If you don't catch your work up, there will be no Twin Peaks this weekend." That's the best warning I've ever uttered.

Alicia Witt as Gersten, the youngest Hayward, in season 2, episode 1...

We started season 1 over winter break as a family. Just started season 2. Everyone is really enjoying it, younger kid most of all.*

... and as Alia Atreides in Dune (1984)

I made her sit at the kitchen counter over three nights to turn in all the missing work. She finished with minimal grumbling. What's up with you?

* Should be up to episode 4 by the time this posts. There's an outside chance we get to Fire Walk With Me before spring break at the end of March. Older kid has auditions at music schools in February which will take up a couple of weekends, but the goal is to at least start The Return during the break.

Should also note: I've only watched two movies this year (Whiplash and - at last - Barbie). Partly because of the 90s tv viewing, but mostly because of time off spent with the family during winter break, holidays, and, ffs, snow days. Very few things I want to watch that I would choose to watch with them. What did I think of Barbie, you ask? Feel free to speculate. You might even be partially correct.
