Younger kid and I watched Pan's Labyrinth last night while spouse was out. My 5th or 6th viewing, the daughter's first. Tentative family viewing tonight is I Saw the TV Glow. I've already seen it but enjoyed it enough to see again. Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine are very good. Is it scary, you ask? It is if the thing you fear most is FEELINGS. The more attention you pay it, the more it hurts. Like most things, I guess. Jane Schoenbrun was an eighties and nineties kid. She has a fondness for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and even references the font the show uses in the intro. A core character from the later seasons has a brief appearance. And the music is The Bronze channeled through a dead TV set:
