Wednesday OT — Favorite Foods

Hey hey, Whaddayasay? What's for lunch and dinner today? This product below could only have been a thing in the 70s. Both parents (if you were lucky enough to have two) had to work, and you, the latchkey kid, would have to fend for yourself with fried bologna sandwiches or ramen. Pasta or frozen pizza if you were feeling fancy.

If you had to fend for yourself as a kid, you probably made something with Chef Boyardee, Manwich, Hungry Man, Stouffer's, Franco-American, Hamburger Helper, Kraft Mac, etc. Or an off brand or generic version if you were really poor. They're probably still inside you now, in spirit but also physically. Fried Spam! Yummers!

For those of you who grew up in an underserved area and/or survived bad public schooling in the seventies:

"You're costing me an entire syllable of hydration with your pidgin English!"

From either The Great Depresh or Born on Third Base on HBO. They're of a kind and blur into each other, but it's Gulman, so it's funny in a pained and painful way.

Poornographical thought of the day: If you've seen a cockroach egg sac hatch on the kitchen table, you were probably poor. Unless you're an entomologist or just gross.
