In any event, we can also start with art, which is generally inspirational and exciting -- and, as Jane Fonda tells us in conversation with Stacey Abrams, part of democratic infrastructure, and anti-authoritarian in that it goes against what wanna-be autocrats are trying to tell us, which is "this is the way things are always going to be and they're never going to be different" -- while seeing art and doing art helps us train to imagine things as they could be, as different than they are, and ourselves as creating different possibilities
