we can outwork them - we can outsmart them - we will have to FOCUS
and we have to NOT TELL THEM till we're done
and we can't sit down in the middle and relax until it's done
(some progressives are notorious for that)
but it can be done and we will do it
Ali Velshi
has the contextual history and compares it to the first NADIR, as well as why
it’s called that
Elie and
Dean are both attorneys
They will tell
everyone both why Alito’s argument is crap AND how Congressional (and White
House) Democrats enabled the creature to be Frankensteined
They will
also talk about the necessary strategy to get the country back in 2029 to where
it should and could have been in 2021 had someone with more muscle than anyone
blue was willing to exert in the Senate or White House at the time to bend Manchinema’s
arms to forego the filibuster so the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, which would’ve
outlawed gerrymandering for everyone and had already passed the House TWICE,
could pass the Senate w/a simple majority
I’m not
going to dwell on the glaring internal logical inconsistencies in that mess
Alito vomited up – I’m doing that Tetris for a longer piece (that maybe doesn’t
go here unless people really want to see a draft) about how the ridiculous
ruling is unconstitutional on its face according to even the SCOTUS6’s own
rulings
where race
according to them cannot be considered to correct for historical disadvantage
in providing voting or educational opportunities … but it can TOTALLY be
considered for a KKKavanaugh stop to racially profile and lock people up
indefinitely in violation of their Constitutional rights
but here
it is
Greg
Sargent - formerly of WaPo when it was a respectable news outlet, now at New
Republic -
has
already done the math for everyone

You want
the highlights broken down by Congressional seats and state houses (who draw
the maps to determine the Congressional seats)? Whole thread, please --

^^^ with
particular attention to what he says about the state legislative chambers
we all
find our states
we all
gather our groups
and we all
get to work
that’s it
