Hey! C’mon in and celebrate the end of one year and the start of a new one.
Good evening. Cawing Crow — Ohara Koson, c. 1900
Maybe a more hopeful topic for this evening (EST) would be what have you read or plan to read this year? I definitely want to keep growing my attention span after my pandemic era laissez-faire follow-four-screens-at-once period. So... reading.

Hello and welcome to the year end celebration of sweetness we call Fur Face Friday. Last week's comments were full of adorable faces getting together as the year winds down.
There's some confusion here about garbage pickup this week; some people saw online that it's tomorrow, some people saw online that it's today (Thursday is our usual day). So I put my stuff out, and if they pick it up today, fine. If not, it's ready to go for tomorrow.
“‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house. I’m sorry I can’t make the rest out. What does it say here?”
I should say that all the words in the following beautiful French Canadian folk song are very, very rude words. However no one will understand any of them unless they speak French, and even then only French-speaking Canadians will know they're rude. So SFW, unless a francophone is in earshot.

'Twas the Friday before Christmas, when all through Fur Face Central not a creature was stirring, not even the most judgemental. Last week's pics were posted on the site with care, in hopes that likes and comments soon would be there.
Is panic setting in about how much still needs to be done for Christmas? People keep asking me if I'm doing anything, or going anywhere, and I am blissfully free of obligations. I hate shopping in the crowds, and I hate travelling over the holidays. I just have to make sure I have enough of everything to get me through the days the stores are closed. Which reminds me; I need cat food.
It wouldn't feel like the holidays without cookies—lots and lots of cookies. My daughter helped with the baking this year. She has her own pizzelle iron now, so she took that over. Hers are better than mine anyway. She also made the Love Knots, which we argued about because I wanted them to have green and red sprinkles, but she insisted on the traditional multicolor. And she's going to try her hand at Pignoli. I made gingersnaps, brown sugar cookies, shortbread, brownies, and maple fudge. I'm making Italian Rainbow cookies later this week. Then I have to package everything up and deliver them to friends.
What are your favorite celebration cookies?
While the shower is peaking this weekend, there's still lots to see on the "shoulders".
