Sunday evening 🍩T

So, I should be in New Brunswick right now, but I didn't quite give myself enough time to pack. I'll be leaving tomorrow instead.

Still packing, talk amongst yourselves.

Or read about Naomi Klein's experience of constantly being confused with Naomi Wolf. Or both. Or neither. Enjoy your Sunday evening/ Monday morning.

Sunday Evening OT

It's been very, very wet today. Each time I've planned to leave the house and go for a walk it starts pouring... but on the plus side, nothing is on fire.

Sunday evening OT

Given all the excitement this weekend, it seems like the ideal time to share these.

Important deer update. This girl dropped by yesterday. She clearly has babies hanging out somewhere since she has a full udder.

Sundad evening OT

It's been a very rainy, uneventful day!
Enjoy this page from a very banned book about penguins.

If you're having some family time today I hope you're enjoying it!

Sunday evening OT

This little swaddled bat is a good mascot for our sleepy Sunday. It's a nice day for walk around here- nothing is on fire, the rain stopped before noon, and the temperature is in a comfortable jeans-and-hoodie range. Woot!

Elder bat living a good life. (ETA link properly)

Sunday Evening OT

It's awfully dark all of a sudden. Actually I have no idea what time it is because I changed time zones and then fell back... I think I ended up in the same place I left? Anyway my usual workplace and its unions are going through a moment. My province may end up in a general strike next week.

Lazy Bunday Evening OT

We're into the home stretch of the weekend, which means it's time for #SundayFishSketch !

While I was kayaking this week, I saw one of these guys swimming around on its ownsome. I didn't know this, but sometimes they get blown up this far north.

It was in shallow water over white sand, so I got a good look.

Sunday evening OT

Today things were accomplished! We had a Family Fixit weekend, and now my parents' deck has only safe, rot-free boards. Yay! I'm all tuckered out from all the pulling up boards, unscrewing screws, and fitting new boards ect.

What's new?

Sunday Evening OT

It's the first long weekend of unofficial summer in the great white north. I think all my furry neighbours must be bbqing at home, because none of them have dropped by. Maybe bunny is unhappy the dnandelion smorgasbord is mostly gone.

Usually peopl have bbqs this weekend, and fire works and whatnot, but we're not quite ready for gatherings yet. But to get ready for summer in the northern hemisphere, and for those who missed it earlier, here is a fabulous history of important fried food milestones. I can almost imagine I'm at a food truck at a street festival.

I was trying to find a picture of a beaver bbqing for this post, but instead got a whole lot of photos of people bbqing beaver tails. Actual literal tails from beavers. While I don't like to yuck anyone's yum, I have to draw the line here. These are the only beaver tail edibles I will endorse.

In other (horrifying?) food, this is something called a red licorice poutine and I just don't know what to do. Yay, nay?

How's it going?

Sunday evening ot

My long eared neighbour has stopped by every afternoon this week to sample the dandelions and take a rest in my little urban meadow.

I'm pretty sure he/ she/ they is an eastern cottontail. Sadly Hinterland Who's Who doesn't have a cottontail clip, so instead, here are 6+ minutes of eastern cottontails adorably snacking. The title is very appropriate too. 🐰

Hop into the comments and tell me about your weekend. Spotted any wildlife, urban or otherwise? Here's some Canadian fur faces causing havoc.
