Fur Face Friday

Hello, one and all, and welcome to Fur Face Friday, where we give you a heaping snootful of cute for having made it through the week. If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that we need to be more serious about self-care. And who better to show you the way than our animal friends? Let’s see what advice last week’s pets have to give.

When something is troubling you, it's important to talk it out. Bertolt’s Firbank is ready to listen.

In case you're new here, favorites are chosen by one of the Snout Selectors (facw, k2b, Hannibal, leahaven, and Iroqdemic), entirely on our own whimsy. WHIMSY! However, in the interest of solidarity, we try to select one dog picture and one cat picture (minimum!) each week. Other pets will also, of course, be considered. We love all your rats, bunnies, ferrets, and other furry, feathery, and finny pals. WE WILL NEVER DISCRIMINATE AGAINST CUTE.

When it comes to finding happiness, ysubassoon’s Darwin says it's important to have friends who know what it’s like being you.

Krispy’s sheltercat Leo reminds us to keep good boundaries, but open the door to love.

Hannibal’s Fanny (heh) knows it’s okay to be a little corny sometimes.

Simon’s Tiddly insists there’s no shame in a little pick-me-up shopping.

It’s Ginaaa’s Cosmo wants us all to get plenty of rest.

And last but not least (except maybe size-wise OH MY GAWRSH SO TEENSY)... wait, what was I saying? Ah, yes. Iroqdemic’s Adonis has just arrived, and wants to remind us all that even though change is often scary and exhausting, sometimes the best thing is the new thing.

That's it for this week, all. Remember the wisdom of the floofs and let them guide you.

This post is all about sharing the happy of a good critter. If you don't have a pet but want to participate, drop off your best Internet find of an animal .gif, meme, or tweet in the comments. Or any cuties looking for a home on Petfinder or a rescue/foster shelter in your area. The more animal lovers, the merrier :) Speaking of sharing, feel free to cross-post these anywhere because it's been scientifically documented that looking at cute pictures of animals reduces stress.

Now show us those loving little faces!
