A few weeks back I mentioned that Arthur Koestler lived in these parts for a time. Visitors included George Orwell. A friend pointed out where it is, not that far from my house, though it is obscured by a rocky hill and small wood. Her husband has memories of "Mr Koestler" living there.
Still on the property beat, I used to pop into East Greenwich Library to check stuff.
The Moomins newspaper strip ran in the Evening News, written and drawn by Jasson's brother at that point I think? However, my first steps into Moominland were most likely when they read one of the novels on Jackanory. So there is a fond nostalgia with this Radio 4 version of Moominland Winter. Bonus: More Moomin stuff.
