Friday Morning Open Thread

October 14th is National Dessert Day.

Claims to be a Napoleon but
looks more like some sort of cake.

A day we can all support while arguing about which dessert is the best dessert.

I'd probably chose a Napoleon or possibly baklava. Clearly I am a fan of puff pastry.

It's also Ukraine's Day of the Defender which replaced the Soviet Era Defender of the Fatherland day in 2015. They've clearly earned it. Slava Ukraini.

On this day in 1066, the Battle of Hastings was fought, Back in the day, I had a client whose server room password was 1066. I'm fuzzy on who the client was but I remember that password.

Other notable events on October 14th include: the revolt by Jewish laborers at the Polish extermination camp Sobibor (1943), Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier (1947) and most important of all, Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered (2007).

Any notable plans for today?
