Thursday Morning Open Thread.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Stray is one of the six finalists for Game of the Year.  I haven’t played it yet, but it definitely looks like something different and cool.

Stray is game about a stray cat in a city full of robots. You solve puzzles by knocking things down into other things, climbing around the city, and interacting with the robots citizens. Somewhere along the way your cat get’s it’s own AI drone, and you get to figure out what happened to the city of robots.

I’m guessing Stray is nominated just to get people talking and doesn’t have a chance to win, but it’s a video game award show so it’s important not to take any of it too seriously.  Still cool to see something new and original get a little more time to shine. Stray is on PlayStation and Steam right now, hopefully coming to Xbox and Switch in the future.

I don’t have a game of the year preference, some stuff I looked forward to got delayed. Gran Turismo 7 had a lot of good in it, but putting so many cars out of reach unless you are willing to buy them with real money turned me off after a few months.  Mostly been playing older games on new hardware like the Steam Deck.

Got a game you think deserves a little more love this year?  Want to complain about another awards show? Just want to check in and complain about your day? Fire away below.
