It's Good Friday, Passover and Ramadan today - an Abrahamic religions of sorts. Also simply Friday for those about to start their weekend.
I was thinking of making the Corpse Reviver No. 2 the signature cocktail for Easter dinner at mom's but it might offend the few religious people there. Also I'd have to pick up some absinthe and possibly some orange liqueur because whatever I have much be at least a decade old. Does Cointreau last a decade?
2 dashes absinthe
¾ ounce london-dry gin
¾ ounce orange liqueur, such as Cointreau
¾ ounce White Lillet
¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
Lemon peel for garnish, optional
Pour the absinthe into a coupe cocktail glass and swirl to coat the glass (absinthe should coat glass, if it pools you have too much and should pour some out).
Add gin, orange liqueur, Lillet blanc and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Secure lid and shake vigorously until well-chilled. Strain into coupe glass and garnish with lemon peel.
Instead I'm doing a much simpler Littet Spritz. Plus it gives you everything you need for a Tom Collins.
And that's my boozy plan for this weekend.
Do you have any boozy plans?
