Update 8/14/23 - When this publishes, my older kid will be about halfway through with 2001: A Space Odyssey at The Music Box Theater in Chicago. Her friend had free tickets to the 3 4 o' clock showing. Had to pick her up from school, today was the first day of her senior year, and drive down Ashland to get her there on time. Five minutes to spare. All told, about 15 miles from home to school to theater and back home. Took almost an hour and a half and now I wish to die.

Guardians of the Galaxy V. 3 was the family movie on Saturday. BDSM and a half. You know what it is, and if you liked the previous volumes, you'll like this one. It was acceptable for what it was.

Tried to watch Django today but had accidentally checked out A Man Called Django instead. Thwarted, I just returned it since the only reason I wanted to see it was because it's a loose remake of Yojimbo. A Fistful of Dollars, also a Yojimbo remake albeit a more faithful one, came out the year before.

Currently reading Where You Linger & Other Stories by Bonnie Jo Stufflebeam, Norse Myths by Kevin Crossley-Holland and Jeffrey Alan Love, and rereading My Heart Is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones because I started Don't Fear the Reaper and couldn't remember what happened in the first book. What's with all the three-named creators?
