I feel like the question always has to be
"After Empire, what's your next favorite?" instead of just "What's your favorite?"
because otherwise at least w/the folks I hang out with, we'd never be able to do the poll again 😊
Even Luke Skywalker's doppelgänger seems conscious of the necessity to get the information right these days

If nothing
untoward happens (which these days I try not to rule out), I have a chance to
see Rachel (Maddow) talk with Professor Anthea Butler this evening live &
in person, so hopefully the place won’t be burned down when I come back &
visit later (the neighborhood they’re “revitalizing” where the theater is might
be – which is another whole story – so please think good thoughts for me should
I have to park municipally & then do the six-lane LA Freeway Sprint back across
the street to the venue).
In light
of the times’ tenor, what I anticipate will be tonight’s themes, & the day
we’re celebrating, I want to ask anybody who hasn’t seen it to please take a peek at
John Oliver’s segment (from 5 months ago) on the current global conflict
so we can
all think with the clarity we’re going to need for the next 185 days (that’s
all that’s left) about what the MSM is both saying and not saying, including
and not including for context, repeating/pushing in our faces and not bothering
to mention at all
I will try
to refrain from my regular rant about having to get my news about what’s going
on practically right up the street, figuratively speaking, from all the way
across the pond in a different country
-- I don’t think the U.S. MSM has yet to report on this, and I don’t expect to
see it
Even the headline leading has already been changed ^^
Authoritarianism Scholar & Professor Ruth Ben Ghiat will be on with Ayman Moyhedin tonight according to the current schedule (unless her appearance is bumped)
Also, here’s
Lawrence with his take on theatrical demonstrative rhetoric (though
he didn’t call it that, the common parlance I’ve been using for the demonstration
we saw which literally paused the trial as well as caused both sets of attorneys
to redirect their questioning, as a testament to its power, is WWT) *and* textbook
enabling, using Hope Hicks’ appearance & testimony as the lens through
which he focused his message
Lawrence: "You get monsters like Donald Trump thanks to people like Hope Hicks"
