Apparently names for it include the buck moon, the feather moulting moon, and the salmon moon
Also apparently we have a National Moon Day and an International Chess Day (which it also is) but National Chess Day is not till the 1st of September and to my knowledge we do not (yet) have an International Moon Day
I want folks to feel free to discuss their experiences with Crowdstrike -- including whether or not you or your industry is suffering yet from its effects at all OR if you just feel as if the impending threat is hanging overhead and you anticipate feeling the "strike" next week, since I don't feel like we're on the other side of this & also don't feel as if the manufacturers/perpetrators are yet being entirely honest with those of us potentially affected (there's a lot of that going on at the U.S. national electoral level too, but as a nod to the Hatch Act we'll wait till comments to get into that).
Quoting kristinbytes from the earlier post today
Yes, I'm still obsessed with the Crowdstrike fuckup. I'm wondering how much their super efficient AI product has to do with it - https://www.crowdstrike.com/press-releases/crowdstrike-and-tata-consultancy-services-transform-modern-enterprise-cybersecurity/ . Putting trust in consultancy and AI seems very MBA. Sounds great. Will save money by getting rid of expensive, skilled tech employees!
On the other hand -- Ryan Reynolds gave up his salary on Deadpool & Wolverine so the movie could have a writers' room ... so I may actually have to go see this movie

Also - anyone else for whom "Crowdstrike" evokes "Deathstrike" from X2, please feel free to check in here
It's also the 55-year anniversary of Apollo 11 - this lady was at Mission Control when they landed
Rafa plans to wear Spain's colors to compete in doubles in the Olympics with (recent Wimbledon champion and defeater of Novak) Carlos Alcaraz
and it is Chris Cornell's birthday
and since we've been talking a lot about actors and movies
