Blaurgh Talk Thursday

It is in fact Thursday, at least on the U.S. EC.  Jeffrey Wright is not BLAURGH but voter suppression sure is.

Because not everything is Rosy POTUS Joe and VP Harris & Speaker Pelosi making history after 100 days

According to Joy Reid's Tuesday night show and The Guardian, the International Criminal Court is actually talking seriously about investigating the torture of BIPOC and other marginalized people in U.S. prisons and by U.S. police as crimes against humanity.

It only took them 400 years to do it!

But that podunk judge in VA denied the motion for Anthony Brown's family to see which OTHER Podunk,VA police (isn't it odd that there are seven of them on leave but we've only heard so far about ONE bodycam as well as the one on that tree – but we didn't even know about the one on the tree till the family attorney said something?) might have tried to shoot him in the back of the head, until THIRTY DAYS pass … because … NOW there's an investigation? Which neither anybody local in Podunk or that judge was the party to initiate – they waited till the FBI came in?

Sounds real aboveboard. All that.

GIVE UP THE TAPES.

Joe Manchin is standing in the way of passing federal legislation for either police reform OR voting rights – which, in the way of massive voter suppression messes being passed by Russiapublican shenanigans in no less than 43 of the current 50 states, means that if we don't figure out a way to keep his Dixiecrat *ss OUT OF THE WAY, means that we can't vote – and if THAT happens, NOBODY gets ANYTHING.

I had to drag the hose because the irrigating system that the landscaping / gardening ladies installed broke during the frost, so I have to drag the hose till they find the time to get back to fix it (and I hurt my foot doing it, because I didn't have time – didn't find the time to work out before running around to do that).

Standing in for Bertoltosaurus – who has his own series of BLAURGHS and we hope Hubbysaurus' hip is improving much more quickly than it went askew – but that doesn't mean anyone should blaurgh less, from “the cat/dog chewed my shoe” level to the “we have to prove democracy and government still works” level Pulitzer Prize winner Eugene Robinson just produced in his column yesterday.

As kristinbytes said – still plenty to blaurgh about.

AMOF we should blaurgh more, because even though it's nice out and we can see our old friends we haven't been able to have lunch with for a year, there is EXTREME ANXIETY and EXTREME UNCERTAINTY and isn't it interesting that in the places with the worst autocrats, the COVID-19 breakouts are also the worst – Brazil with Bolsonaro, India with Modi, and up till Biden-Harris took over, the United States under the Corrupt Orange (though now things are better except I would really like to know how many Black folks in Louisiana and other hard-to-reach places in this country would like a vaccine and can't get one, while meanwhile there are boatloads of them being readied up to ship from the U.S. to India).

And I think I speak for a whole lot of introverts when I say “I WILL CONTINUE TO MASK UP IN PUBLIC BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF MASKLESS PEOPLE WHO TRIED TO PUSH ME OUT OF THE WAY WHEN THIS MESS FIRST STARTED ARE ALSO LYING TO ME NOW. SO STOP TRYING TO PUSH ME OUT THE DOOR, YOU GUYS”

Even Nicole Wallace, if I heard her correctly, just said something about her Xanax level. So … yeah.
