- 1626: Dutch Colonist Organize the purchase of Manhattan for 60 Guilders worth of goods. The actual details of the deal aren't completely know, but the $24 of trinkets version is the most well know.
- 1837: John Deere creates the first steel plow.
- 1840: "Penny Black" the worlds first adhesive postal stamp is used in Great Britain
- 1937: The Hindenburg explodes in New Jersey, killing 36 people.
- 1941: Joseph Stalin become the Premier of the Soviet Union
- 1957: The last episode of "I Love Lucy" is broadcast on CBS
- 1960: Dwight Eisenhower signs in the Civil Rights act of 1960
