Of
course Kavanaugh waits till Congress leaves town. Of course he and Kemp and DeSantis and Abbott
take people’s rights away literally in the dead of night. (Latest SCOTUS ruling in comments.)
What bothers me the most is that WE SHOULD KNOW who paid off his tens of millions of dollars worth of debts just before his SCOTUS confirmation hearing – because generally candidates who hold that level of debt are not considered for a seat on the high court because of the extent of the possibility that candidate could easily be compromised – and who paid the several million dollars worth of mortgage on his house.
Here’s
what I think I know – it doesn’t take the Nap Ministry to repeatedly assert it
for even the semi-conscious and –conscientious among us to know that rest and living
wage and healthcare and housing are penumbral rights every American should be
able to enjoy.
If
we don’t remain vigilant even when we rest, however, we have to know there are
people who are hungry and eager to take those things from us and hoard all this
society’s benefits for themselves who have been enabled to do it because they
were empowered by mechanisms decades in the making that were activated and
propelled while we were too busy, too tired, too underpaid, or too uninformed
to be looking.
