Now, there are parallels in treatment *by authorities* of these Ottawa “protesters” (whom I understand are not only creating a nuisance for neighborhood dwellers, but also threatening people wearing masks with violence (!!)), Ammon Bundy (remember him?), and Kim Potter – all of whom are PERPETRATORS.
There are also parallels in treatment *by authorities* of Daunte Wright (whom one could argue Kim Potter murdered, even though she was only convicted of manslaughter), Amir Locke (a legal gun-owner who wasn't on the no-knock warrant Minneapolis police literally executed that ended up getting him shot and killed), and Z'Kye Husain (who while defending a friend from a White bully who tried to touch him first after he verbally tried to get the bully to stop bullying his friend, was handcuffed by NJ police while the White teen who started the fight was allowed to sit free on the sidelines and then walk away) – all of whom are VICTIMS.
Asking folks to contemplate those similarities and differences while also considering the pieces of joy that've been found in wanderings around these internets, AND also thinking about what pieces of American history many of these same *authorities* try, century after century, to literally bury … as well as, in context, why they might keep trying to do that.
Anybody else also feeling any parallels between all that and how Putin is treating Ukraine?
