Mrs. Finch's Mystery #1
Mrs. Finch had spent most of her life working as a librarian, surrounded by books and knowledge. But when she retired, she found that she couldn't bear to leave the world of literature behind. So she got a job at a small antiquarian book store, where she spent her days surrounded by old tomes and first editions.
It was there that Mrs. Finch met Boss Lady, the no-nonsense owner of the store who had a deep love for rare books. Boss Lady was impressed by Mrs. Finch's knowledge and dedication, and soon the two became fast friends.
But their quiet life was disrupted one day when a rare book was stolen from the store. Mrs. Finch and Boss Lady were determined to get to the bottom of the mystery, but they knew they needed help. That's when they turned to a group of raccoons who lived in the alley behind the store.
The raccoons, who had earned the nickname "The Trash Pandas," were notorious for their thievery. But they were also incredibly clever and resourceful. Mrs. Finch and Boss Lady struck a deal with the raccoons: they would provide the raccoons with a steady supply of food in exchange for their help in solving the book theft.
The Trash Pandas were eager to help, and soon they were scouring the alleyways and rooftops of the city in search of clues. They eavesdropped on conversations, broke into buildings, and even followed suspects in the dead of night.
Thanks to their efforts, Mrs. Finch and Boss Lady were able to recover the stolen book and catch the thief. But the mystery-solving team didn't stop there. They continued to work together to solve other mysteries that plagued the city.
With Mrs. Finch's knowledge, Boss Lady's savvy, and The Trash Pandas' skills, there was no mystery too big or too small for them to solve. And so they continued to work together, keeping the streets of the city safe and keeping the rare books of the antiquarian book store out of harm's way.
I was going to see if ChatGPT could update my resume but instead I decided to write a mystery. Then I had to generate some art. I wish I could remember the mysteries I rough drafted for Mrs. Finch over the years. I might be able to crank out a poorly written but semi-coherent novel. And waste many, many, many hours.
What are you procrastinating from/with these days?
