Today is a brand-new holiday for a lot of people, just made official in the last couple of years. Just goes to show, history is what you make it, even and especially after so many have tried to erase the icky parts. So go do a good thing, join a party, support a business, support justice, take in some good entertainment, take some time to learn and reflect, whatever. It's a day about freedom, after all.
