Joy Ann Reid’s show The  ReidOut received *two* NAACP Awards the other evening and yet and still both she and Katie Phang were let go from their anchor slots

 

They follow Melissa Harris Perry, Tiffany Cross – who had the highest weekend ratings in her slot from its inception right up until after she defended herself from Tucker Carlson’s direct attacks – and Mehdi Hasan (who has his own network Zeteo now) –

 all of whom are correspondents both of color and of national reputation

and Jotaka Eaddy and Don Lemon had a few things to share

 

The woman who apparently made these decisions is named Rebecca Kutler (please don't ask me what the network has done with Cesar Conde, bc I don't know) and if that name rings a faint bell, it's because she was one of two women who was advocating for the hiring of Ronna Romney McDaniel before every evening anchor from Nicolle Wallace to Rachel to Lawrence (and Joy) spoke up
