Mercury Rx, BAFTA, and Jemele Hill's SPOLITICS on Parlez Vous Monday

One of the best things we know about BAFTA is that Ryan Coogler made history - again - for being the first Black winner of the BAFTA for Best Original Screenplay

and we also know that what Mercury Rx (especially in Pisces with the current solar eclipse in Virgo), the BAFTAs, and our entire current worldwide environment as borked by the regime leaning on thousand-year-old tropes is that our collective communication can always use  ... some adjustments .

Now Jemele Hill has some things to say about 'Sinners' stars Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo having their BAFTA awards presentation interrupted by a racist slur.

She also has a thorough reaction to FBI Director Kash Patel using taxpayer money to see the Olympic men's hockey team win gold over Canada AND Trump's awkward post-victory phone call to the team.

BAFTA *did not apologize* to Michael Jordan or Delroy Lindo.

“Why is it always Black people who are put upon to make *everyone else* feel comfortable when the public slur is levied against Black people and it is Black people who need the comfort?”

“How is there more responsibility placed on the people who are actually victimized by this – the people who are always than the people who are *doing* it?

Speaking of which – the man shouting the slur had Tourettes.  I would urge people to *hold their comments* about that and listen to the nuanced comments Jemele has about that, first, including this one

“If that man had shouted a different slur that had offended a different group – there wouldn’t be nearly as much rationalization”

This feels like one of those "Now, More than Ever" moments

Chani's suggestions on how to keep brains unscrambled during this retrograde and eclipse - as well as a synergy that Patrick Teahan has done with an analogy between the "parent state" and the "nuclear family" that I have been waiting for SOMEONE to do so we could take it apart and get on with hog-tying these midterms despite The Odds Of Those Who Cheat (another whole discussion given who got busted for it this week) will be in comments
