Had been trying to
find some way to lift my spirits back up after having had them ridiculously
elevated watching Williams/Mboko take out the 3rd seed in doubles at
Queens, after Victoria injured her knee in singles against Karolina Pliskova
the next day
Not sure how I managed
to forget in all that that Mayor Mamdani got around the whingeing by a certain orange-accommodating
credibly accused of harassment MSG owners’ box dude by installing broadcast
centers all around NYC so people could have their own Game Five watch parties
Someone who
understands the World Cup better than me is going to have to explain what’s
happening now and who’s ahead (I’m sure there are a lot of people here who fit
that description)
Since a lot of us
were also ahead of curve predicted that it would be narrative control that
contributes toward a more democratic outcome for elections at times like these –
