Today in 1948 The DuMont Network became the first TV network to show Professional Wrestling in Prime Time. Since hardly any of the old Kinescope recording were saved most of the DuMont's network shows have been lost to time.
DuMont also was the first Network to connect the Midwest and East coast for live tv via coaxial cabling. The first to have a sitcom, soap opera, and to show a full motion picture thanks to they're partnership with Paramount. Sadly, they went out of business in 1956.
