It’s your weekly Photo Gallery! Come on in, take a look at what people have been up to over the past week and share some of your own photos.
They don’t need to be taken with a fancy camera or works of art. Share any SFW photos you’ve taken with even the poorest of potatoes. Of course we love to see that arty stuff too.
I’ve wanted to use this image for a while, never seemed the right moment. Still doesn’t, but hey. Points if you can name the artist? Points if you can name the character? Points if you can name her dog? Did she have a cat?
I have been like super good at being a functional adult lately. I even bought a new dishwasher. Sweet, sweet quiet dishwasher. And I've been working steadily, doing different projects, teaching online and following through on my service opportunities. It's all worth it when I can get that sweet Pusheen merch though. Quarterly it's a theme (and you know how I feel about themes) and this time it was PUSHEEN IN SPACE. Let me show you the whole box. Firstly, there is the distinctive yellow and blue space Pusheen box. My cats have already claimed that for sure, even before I emptied it.
Well, friends, it’s looking like it’s the end of the road for Kinja. But is it the end for Fur Face Friday? I… sincerely don’t know. I wish I could say. What I can say is with all the chaos and stress of the world as it is, the barrage of healing cuteness has made my week more than enough times to be worth the effort to keep it running up to now.
There are options: Backtalk Village on blogspot (which is currently looking the most viable for our cute-sharing needs) and Deadsplinter are taking Kinja refugees. Some reddits, some discords… it’s all pretty confusing right now. Me, I’d like to see FFF keep going, but there is some organizing to do. Anyone with alternative notions, or who would like to volunteer to share the load, feel free to say so in the comments.
In case you’re new (in which case, welcome!): Favorites are chosen by one of the Snout Selectors (KrabbyPaddy, facw, Chuckles, k2b, Hannibal, Iroqdemic, and Leahaven), entirely on our own whimsy. WHIMSY. And...
Hey, look, you all know the drill. Last week we posted critters. This week we pick dogs and cats and butterflies and rats and whatever suits that whimsy we just made all that noise about. Then you post your beloved floofs and fins and feathers from your house or your neighborhood or your wonderful local shelter or just throw some cute from the internet out there. And maybe one day soon, we’ll do it all again. For the moment, let’s have these sweet faces help us bid farewell to the Kinjaverse.
farscythe’s Candy has definite opinions about the matter. And all the other matters.
Here we are, Balkers, the 2020 Kinja migration has begun. Now seems like a good time to post our standard Backtalk House Rules as a refresher for old-timers and for any newcomers we've picked up along the way. These rules have been repurposed from our standard Kinja rules and will likely need to be adjusted as we get used to our new platform.
We try to keep things casual, civil, and grown up here at Backtalk Village but here are some very
basic ground rules. We hope to avoid being iron-fisted and allow general common sense and basic courtesy to keep the peace. That being said, we do want to be crystal clear about certain things.
We want to review
what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior. More specifically, what
kinds of issues are likely to result in banning:
Any racist, ableist, misogynistic, homophobic or transphobic slurs will result in banning.
Divulging anyone’s personal information without explicit, public permission will result in banning.
Repeatedly attacking another member despite being asked to stop will
result in having author rights pulled at a minimum and potentially a
banning at the discretion of the moderators.
The publishing of
personal conversations with another board member without explicit,
public permission will potentially result in banning at the discretion
of the moderators.
Call-outs and pile ons are specifically forbidden on
this board.
If a mod has asked a
member to tone down in an altercation, that must be respected. Failure
to do so could result in the pulling of author rights or banning
depending upon the situation.
If an argument arises outside of Backtalk, please do not bring it to Backtalk.
While
we mostly apply these rules to our board, if we become aware of you
persistently harassing or otherwise provoking and inciting arguments in
other places with our members (such as other blogging communities or on
Twitter) and they have asked for this to stop, we will have to
reconsider your involvement on our board, including possible authorship
losses or banning.
Arguments
and disagreements will arise on the board. We know this. We don’t expect
that everyone is going to like each other all the time. We
don’t mind lively debate or even heated disagreements as long as all
parties are comfortable. We do expect people to behave maturely
and courteously towards each other. If anyone is feeling uncomfortable
about the direction of an argument, please contact a mod.
We really strive to make this a safe and enjoyable board and want to
keep the lines of communication open. So please contact us any time. And
most importantly, keep being awesome.
