Sunday Evening ghOsTie 👻

I've got my costume all planned out: Paper Bag Princess! I've got a yard waste bag for the dress and a big stuffed dragon I bought years ago at Ikea. All I need is some yellow construction paper for a crown.

Fur Face Friday

Hello and welcome to the cuddliest corner of the interwebs: Fur Face Friday! Our fur friends were in fine form in last week's comments. Their furry faces were so expressive that it seemed like they were speaking without words.

Scary Movies I've Watched This Year, with a Wimp Factor (1–10) Rating

I didn't watch a lot of horror movies this year, but more than you did, probably. Quick skim of my spreadsheet brought up Halloween related films. Not all are straight horror but have some elements that led me to place them on the list.

Wendell & Wild, 2022, Henry Selick, written by Selick and Jordan Peele

Wimp Factor (least scary to most, 1–10) is a bit of guesswork relying on violence and gore, tension and dread, and jump scares, but I'll do my best. They might not scare you or me, but they would scare my wife and younger kid. Recommended by SQRL will be in bold

Good morning. I won't rest until there are as many Halloween standards as there are Christmas ones.

Hellooooo Backtalk!

The Orionids peaked this morning, but there's still plenty of time to see them if you have a dark sky handy and star-gazing is your thing. https://www.space.com/orionid-meteor-shower-peak-2023-good-year

It's been a beautiful fall day. I'm working on an assignment. Discuss your day below.

Not much went on today; shoulda done laundry but didn't. I did make an appointment at an optometrist up the street for an eye exam next week. We'll see how they do; they were recommended by a neighbour.

I've been really migrainy all day, and I wonder if that's why I've been so tired the last few days.

Fur Face Friday!

Welcome all, it's Friday the 13th, but fortunately the Fur Faces aren't spooky yet (this isn't actually fortunate, I'm looking forward to pets in costumes). In any event they have been taking advantage of the warm fall to get outside as evidenced by last week's post, so lets take a look at the best:

First up is Ruby who is looking pretty swole among the leaves

So herself has had a late afternoon walk, and she does seem to be improving. I've booked a session tomorrow with the trainer I've used before, who has the magic touch with dogs. I'm hoping for an assessment of whether I'm the best home for her, and if so, some tips.

I let her do some zoomies in the back yard this morning and after that, she did a pee and a poop, but that's one pee and one poop in over 24 hours. I let her in the yard after the afternoon walk, and nothing. I'll try again later.

She's sleeping quietly right now.

We got the summation from the city's Committee of Adjustments and it was pretty decisive on a number of points in rejecting the proposed new building across the road. The owners can appeal to the city, and they can appeal to the province, and unfortunately, the province has a history of overturning decisions that the city makes.
