Bun🐇day later 🐰T

The eclipse cover photo for the Gallery is so moody and beautiful I almost didn't want to post and knock it from its top billing. That said, who doesn't love a good Pin/Insta fail?

Having a very chore-y Sunday. I should really walk outside and touch some grass but meh.

Anyone have any favourite recipes for spring? I picked up a few cookbooks at the library to switch things up a bit. I might make some fresh rolls later this week. They're easy and a great, packable no-cook lunch. how-to-make-summer/fresh-rolls

Should I give the peeps cake a try?

Bunday evening 🐰T

A little swing, anyone?

Swing Dance Leeds: Pioneers of Lindy Hop

You can imagine how the Moms for Liberty and their ilk would've reacted to Lindy hopping kids.

Strange to think swing is nearly 100 years old.

Sunday evening OT

This song seems appropriate since the local wildfire is under control, more people are headed home, and the ban on being in the woods is being lifted at midnight. There is still a fire ban of course. The much larger fire in Shelburne county is still out of control, but they're getting the rain too. 🌈☔

Sunday evening ot

It's been a weekend! I worked at the bike valet for a marathon yesterday and today. It was fun but very chilly, and then it started pouring as we were packing everything up this afternoon. When I got home there were puddles in my boots.

After seeing everyone cross the finish line, I can definitely say I have zero desire to ever run a full marathon. So many were hobbling around or being carried by their loved ones. 41 km/ 26 miles is a very, very, VERY long way! Just nope.

I was up at 5 to be setting up the bike valet at 6am two days in a row, so ready for a nap. 😴

Happy Victoria Day Weekend, aka May 2-4, to my fellow Canadians!

Bunday evening OT

Feeling a little more wintry around here. It's going to be a while before there's any lake skating (if at all) but there's been a dusting of snow. I've found all the winter gear, including the cozy fleecy socks.

Sprotsball update: Alphonso Davies scored the very first goal ever scored by the Canadian men's team at a World Cup. ⚽Woohoo! I've waited forever for that! But then Croatia absolutely walloped us 4-1 and we're out of the competition. Sigh.

Still, amazing moment! He seems like a nice young man, and super talented, having been signed by Bayern Munich a few seasons ago as a teenager.

Sunday Evening OT

Let me see if I can figure this blog thingy out...

This is basically what things look like out my window right now. Winter has arrived! (For now anyway.) I embraced it and listened to some folk and indie Christmas/ winter playlists on youtube. I think my goal is to be sick of xmas music well before the 24th.

We're back in a lockdown tomorrow, just in time to crush holiday shopping for small, independent businesses. Amazon, however, continues to suck up all the money in the world at a frightening rate. If at all possible, if anyone is buying anything in the next little bit, let's try to keep it in our local shops. My little neighbourhood has had a lot of construction too, so the small businesses here have already been struggling. The different levels of government are promising more relief for people in the areas with lockdowns, so I just hope the $ actually goes to workers and small places that have to close, not corporations with well-paid CEOs who can weather the shutdown better.

The rest of my eveing involves a puzzle, a movie, maybe making a pot pie and doing another hour of work to be ready to teach tomorrow. I'm not going to get all that done, am I? What are you all up to this evening?
