Sunday Dinner OT

It's sort of spring-like out there. I think... I'm still in my PJs, puttering around doing chores, drinking tea, and bingeing Canadian politics.

🌷How's it going?

Sunday Dinner OT

The fall days are gorgeous but it's dark by 6:30. I think I'm going to put the Christmas lights up early this year for morale. Who doesn't feel more cheerful with twinkly lights?

Sunday evening 🌖T

Just the neighbourhood deer crossing the road.

It's a lazy summer evening. I've got my hammock, my faithful bunny companion, and dinner plans that include corn on the cob, a veg dog with zucchini relish, and watermelon. 🍉

How's it going in the rest of the village?

Sunday Evening OT

Speaking of trees, the Sycamore Gap tree is growing shoots!

https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/north-east/hadrians-wall-and-housesteads-fort/next-steps-for-the-sycamore-gap-tree

Sycamores grow fairly quickly so there may be a new tree in the gap soonish. Because the shoots are growing from the stump not a seed it's the same tree.

How are you all? I've had some serious failure to launch today but I've promised myself an evening walk so the day won't be completely sloth-like.

Sunday evening OT

I refuse to read the news this weekend. Instead let's watch this dog play soccer.

Goodest pitch invader ever.

Bun🐇day later 🐰T

The eclipse cover photo for the Gallery is so moody and beautiful I almost didn't want to post and knock it from its top billing. That said, who doesn't love a good Pin/Insta fail?

Having a very chore-y Sunday. I should really walk outside and touch some grass but meh.

Anyone have any favourite recipes for spring? I picked up a few cookbooks at the library to switch things up a bit. I might make some fresh rolls later this week. They're easy and a great, packable no-cook lunch. how-to-make-summer/fresh-rolls

Should I give the peeps cake a try?

Sunday Evening OT

Just started reading Station Eleven this afternoon. It's one of the Canada Reads books this year, and so far it's living up to the hype although I'm less than one chapter in.

Sunday Eve Thread

Went for a skate this evening. It's nice that the days are longer (daylight until 6 pm!) but it was frosty!

This is the first time there will be 0 skating days on the Rideau Canal. ☹ https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-64766191
There might be skating in LA?

How's it going? Discuss below.

Bunday Evening!

Hello! I hope everyone stayed safe and warm this weekend, or if you're in the southern hemisphere, not too warm.

Today is the Lantern Festival, which marks the last day of Lunar New Year. Looks beautiful!

We're a full week into the Year of the Rabbit, but so far not trending towards peaceful as promised. The only way to hop is upwards one hopes.

Sunday Evening Ohtee

This seems like something that should be brought to everyone's attention. US Army Corps of Engineers Cat Calendar

I have high blood pressure right now beacuse this month's Doc Soup film series is Battleground, a documentary about anti- abortion activists' strategies. It's a well-done doc, but I found it hard to watch until after seeing the Q&A with the filmmaker, Cynthia Lowen, where she talks about how the organizations involved (especially Students for Life, I thought) co-opt other movements, or use misinformation, to have clout beyond their relatively small numbers.  Battlegroundfilm.org

I will do some dry reading for my course about math assessment to bring my blood pressure down. 🧮

The cat calendar should help too!

Just got in from a nice long New Year's Day walk near the ocean. Some of the young people were Polar Swimming. What did you get up to?

Some design ideas for BT village? Six Decades of Barbie Dream Homes (NYT, no paywall)

The NYT 2022 faces quiz is out. I hope the link works because it's a fun way to waste time. 2022 Quiz
I knew all the obvious ones, but didn't do so well with the final quarter of the list. Didn't watch enough Abbott Elementary or pay attention to who runs the US treasury, I guess.

Looking forward to the solstice and getting some of that sunlight back. Less than a week away!
