I'm having lunch with my friend who doesn't let me get a word in edgewise, but we are going to a nice French patisserie up the street, so I'll have a nice sandwich and pastry for dessert. They have some Basque pastries, which I want to try.

And I have to submit my statement about the variances that the owner of the prospective laneway house is asking.

We're halfway to the weekend!

I'm not doing anything much today. I returned almost all of the books that I took to the cottage, and picked up a couple of holds, and just discovered that a whack of holds that I had paused, are on the way in! I had said to pause them until Aug. 31, and forgot to change the dates. In the past, they were paused indefinitely, until you re-activated them, but now, you have to enter a date. I don't actually want most of them right now, or indeed, until next summer. So I'll have to pick them up (I can't cancel them at this stage), return them, and replace the holds.

I think today will be taking the car to Canadian tire and loading up on some more stuff to go to the cottage. It's pretty easy to get to by transit (only 2 subway stops, and a three minute walk at either end), but I want to get a storage bin that will be awkward to carry, in addition to everything else I want to get.

I have a lot of shopping to do today, and I have to go to the library to pick up the remainder of my books for this round at the cottage. My regular library has closed for a couple of months for renovations, so my pick up location is considerably further away, which is annoying.

I have a busy day today; meeting my friend Andrea downtown, and heading to Sonic Boom Records to see if they have Angine de Poitrine's CDs in stock, as their website says, and maybe pick up some headphones while I'm there. Then heading to Mountain Equipment Co-op, because I want to add some stuff to my solar farm; maybe a second mini solar panel, solar light or power pack, and then to the Eaton centre to look for various things like a linen blouse. I aim to spend some $$$!

It's supposed to rain all day (the gardens need it), and I have a brunch date with a friend. The cafe is just up the street for me (not the usual patisserie; another patisserie. There are now 4 within two blocks of me), and she has a short walk to and from the subway at either end, so we'll see how the morning goes.

It's supposed to be hot (for May) and sunny again today. The exterminator is coming this afternoon, and I'll get a sense of how active the rats have been over the last couple of months.

On Monday, I was promised a nice Wednesday to finish moving bricks from the back yard, and now the weather network is saying rain all afternoon. So that will have to wait for a bit.
