  • 1527: Troops from Spain and Germany sack Rome binging an end to the Renaissance.
  • 1626: Dutch Colonist Organize the purchase of Manhattan for 60 Guilders worth of goods.  The actual details of the deal aren't completely know, but the $24 of trinkets version is the most well know.
  • 1837: John Deere creates the first steel plow.
  • 1840: "Penny Black" the worlds first adhesive postal stamp is used in Great Britain
  • 1937: The Hindenburg explodes in New Jersey, killing 36 people.
  • 1941:  Joseph Stalin become the Premier of the Soviet Union
  • 1957:  The last episode of "I Love Lucy" is broadcast on CBS
  • 1960:  Dwight Eisenhower signs in the Civil Rights act of 1960
