Good Morning. Today back in 1926 the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) formed NBC, the USA's first broadcast network.
NBC has a bit of an interesting history. When NBC started it's parent company RCA was owned by GE. An antitrust lawsuit forced GE to sell off RCA. During that time NBC grew to have a NBC Blue Network (news and cultural programming), NBC Red (entertainment and music), NBC Orange (West Coast version of Red), NBC Gold (West Coast version of Blue), and NBC White (shortwave radio). Another antitrust lawsuit caused NBC to sell off NBC Blue and that became ABC. Then just to make things go full circle, GE ended up buying back RCA and NBC in 1986. Oddly enough now a cable company owns the controlling interest in the first broadcast company.
Was that whole TL:DR version of NBC's history just an excuse to use their "the More You Know" logo, maybe. Either way it's the open thread talk below.
