Mrs. Finch's Mystery #4

Mrs. Finch had retired from her job as a librarian a few years ago but she still kept her mind sharp by solving puzzles and mysteries. So when her neighbor, Mrs. Johnson, told her about a missing package that was supposed to arrive last week, she couldn't resist the opportunity to investigate.

Mrs. Johnson had ordered a rare first edition book online and was eagerly waiting for it to arrive. However, the package never made it to her doorstep. She had contacted the courier service, but they couldn't seem to locate it.

Mrs. Finch decided to start her investigation by retracing the package's delivery route. She went to the courier service office and asked for a list of all the delivery addresses on the day Mrs. Johnson's package was supposed to be delivered. She spent hours visiting each address, talking to the residents and checking their mailboxes, but there was no sign of the missing package.

Just as Mrs. Finch was about to give up, she spotted a scruffy little dog in the park. The dog looked lost and hungry, so she decided to take him home. She named him Sherlock and gave him a warm bath and some food.

As she was playing with Sherlock in her backyard, she noticed that he was particularly interested in a small hole under her fence. She decided to investigate and found a pile of ripped packages on the other side of the fence.

With Sherlock by her side, Mrs. Finch followed the trail of ripped packages to a small shed at the edge of the park. Inside the shed, they found a man surrounded by piles of packages. The man was startled at first, but then he explained that he had been stealing packages to sell the contents online.

Mrs. Finch immediately recognized Mrs. Johnson's missing package on the pile and called the police. The man was arrested, and all the stolen packages were returned to their rightful owners.

Mrs. Johnson was thrilled to receive her rare first edition book, and she was amazed at how Mrs. Finch had solved the mystery. She couldn't believe that a scruffy little dog had helped her neighbor crack the case.

Sherlock had found a forever home with Mrs. Finch, and they had solved their first case together. From that day on, Mrs. Finch and Sherlock were known as the dynamic duo in the neighborhood, solving mysteries big and small.
