Today in 1975 Jaws premiered. I think it's safe to go back in the water, but doesn't hurt to double check.
The original Jaws made close to half a billion dollars at the world wide box office. Each of It's sequels made considerably less than that. The 4th movie Jaws The Revenge topped off at 51 million to finish off the franchise.
Of course there were rip offs movies featuring Orcas, Piranhas, and Barracudas. Even movies like the Meg and Deep Blue with other type of sharks. And then the crown jewel of the SyFy network, the Sharknado franchise
Not even safe in space.
