Missed it by a day, but back in 1968, 2001: A Space Odyssey was released yesterday. Today's AI is too busy trying to save money for billionaires to worry about space travel and offing an astronaut or two.
I think I talked about it back on the Observation Deck, but I was way to young the first time I watched it to even understand the scope of the story. Then it was on late night on TBS or maybe TNT and I kind of got it since then since I had learned Sci-Fi didn't need to be Star Wars or Trek. When I saw it for the 50 anniversary in a theater is when I truly got it and liked it. I think I've seen it twice since then. Once when they had the 70 mm re-release, and again on HBO Max.
Still haven't read the book...
Anyway, how's your day going BackTalk?
