It feels like there are some folks who just want their way no matter what and at whose expense who seem to believe they can do whatever they want bc they believe people won’t understand what their own rights are, they’ll be cowed out of asking, or they’ll do their best to interfere with folks having time to learn
To
that end – an organizational psych expert and a cultural commentator on
personal relationships had really intriguing things to say about
how
the plutocrats and wanna-be plutocrats have scammed a lot of folks out of the
value of critical thinking
and habits
to develop when we’re trying to deal with people who bully & try to overwhelm
and doing some psychological shield-building to blunt their efforts
and we’re going to need those skills
both in part bc the wanna-be plutocrats really seem to believe people aren’t willing to read 1A (or any of the other important amendments, concerning some of which we’ll hopefully go into more detail tonight) all the way to the bottom as Rachel exhorts us to do – right to peacefully assemble, right to petition government for grievance redress, etc., etc.
and
also because that critical thinking practice will help us both to analyze the content
we take in in asking questions like
“Why
do we have to go all the way to UK press to learn about exhibits happening in
Los Angeles and what might be SEVERAL reasons why no U.S. outlet has any
mention of it”
