It could be a thing you didn't think you needed - or were led to believe you didn't need because you took the suggestion of someone else who thought they knew better or who was so used to speaking authoritatively and having people take their word for it that they didn't expect to be fact-checked
(E.g., - "It's warmer and it's melting" is not going to take care of the entirety of a long driveway when it's been snowing all weekend, the drifts have piled up, and the town / city plough has basically blocked your driveway in and you need to get the car out. Someone will need to get out there with the blower and/or shovel.)
OR - and this is hopefully more pleasant / less annoying - it was something you didn't know you needed or had forgotten you needed that resurfaced at the very time you realized you needed it or even before
