In our AM
post when BCC was talking about that principal who thought it would be a really
great idea for the whole school to have a holiday show but said principal didn’t
have this epiphany until 1 December my first thought was
“This is
not Kindergarten Cop”
Since this
past January the ones that pop up most frequently in my head are both
iterations of the Running Man
But with
everything coming out concerning Haugesbreath (as someone called him today) and
how hard the regime is trying to make Admiral Bradley (whom I’d never heard of
before today) the scapegoat for this entire mess
I’m
starting to think a whole lot more about adding “A Few Good Men” to the list
I don’t want
to go so far as to say ‘Antebellum’ (though I will admit I’m starting to have
my doubts – I could only watch it once and once I read the synopsis of ‘Alice’
with Keke Palmer I was like “I’m not watching that”)
But with
everything I heard today about “remigration”, which I knew Marco Rubio has been
talking about since May and which Goebbels Miller has been talking about for a
year
"An official government account using the word “remigration” is not normal. It’s an imported term from European far-right movements that refers to mass expulsion. Democracies do not use population-purification language. #holdfast #SteadyState
I’d be lying if I didn’t say Prof Derrick Bell’s Space Traders hasn’t come to mind more than once
Though I also think Noem is doing that because it was Rep Jasmine Crockett who broadcast that Pro Publica caught her red-handed stealing millions in taxpayer money
On the
heels of the Q that k2b posted this morning, I’m hoping we can find some
remedies in some of the same works of art and/or from some of the same creators
that/who have maybe articulated the problem
Joseph Gordon Leavitt and Stacey Abrams (I know, right?) had an amazing talk about that today and I hope it’s still accessible
https://substack.com/live-stream/83211?utm_source=activity_item
Let’s keep
thinking about those remedies
