Monday Evening OT

We had a couple of overnight freezes but I think winter is truly over now. The sun is out, flowers are blooming.

"Which Way To Go" OKA "Next Steps" on Parlez Vous Monday

I have a lot of feels today, y'all - but I was glad to hear Chani say this was the week for it

I also feel like we're in a place as a country where the first thing we need to do (a place where we weren't really ALL in before) is to find our sources of reliable information -- and then the second thing we need to do is to take action where it's recommended by those sources

as in, NO SLACKING

I don't feel quite the way Dr. Stacey AND Paul Lance do about what's being done (and what's not).

I believe it's necessary to encourage people to do the right thing even when they haven't done it before and even though they haven't done enough.  I'm not sure if I don't believe in the "ice in the face" method because I've been conditioned into believing "it doesn't work" (people be mad defensive, yo) -- or possibly because people like Dr. Stacey and Paul are a h*ll of a lot better at it than me

(this new piece - it wasn't up when I started this post -  is more encouraging from Dr. Stacey than the one I was going to post in the main - we'll put the other in comments)

10 Things White Liberals Can Do Now That Another No Kings Protest Is Over

I continue to be concerned about urgency -- because, as I've been saying as long as y'all have been hearing me say it -- the other side is playing for keeps, and more and more they're not playing by the rules we thought we all agreed to ...

and it's feeling like we're needing to learn new ways to counter and block

I don't believe it's enough to rely on their stupidity

That feels too much to me like a new iteration of the Bystander Rule that looks a little different on the outside but still acts the same

Truth & Reconciliation for all

There's more about both voting (a must-do) and what needs to be done IN ADDITION (I am almost as tired of the "insteads" as I have always been of the binaries; feeling like they're coming from the same place) in comments

We can remember we have superheroes on our side
