“What is” feels so ridiculously
unstable & uncertain with certain people who behave as if they’re on
who-knows-what figuratively driving the vehicle that contains a whole bunch of
nation-states …
… that it feels as if
it might be more productive (in the universal as opposed to the capitalist
sense) to find some time to imagine what it is we DO want & would like to be
our experience
(while we rest bc rest is resistance)
“The United States is
still destined for greatness” – Senator Ossoff
He had a pretty
spectacular live rally today
In the spirit of
cautious optimism - I would like to
think that this thing that has come out in the comparative open, when it has
stayed buried for years and has been unaddressable thereby, if we get it
successfully wrangled with perhaps it will stay “wrangled” for long enough for
the country (and, really, the world) to make some actual progress.
The hot takes, from JSC (replete with facts)
The short take, from Kenny (also replete with facts)
The “talking amongst
ourselves” take, for those with ears to hear
I would like to also share from a position of otg experience that the formal protocol is that the candidate picks the surrogates they want (and, one would reasonably assume, whose help they have deduced that they need in order to WIN).
To do it the other
way around (as some of the angry “she owes him this forced unpaid labor” folks –
who I’m thinking do not have OTG experience – appear to be demanding) would be
like crashing a party instead of waiting to be invited.
Professionals don’t
do that.
On the “what Black people don’t owe” subtopic Kenny raised – which always seems to raise hackles – I would like to also insert a couple of TILs that flip the script on what’s “owed” and to whom, bc I didn’t know the extent to which without the contributions of Black Congresspeople elected post-Reconstruction, public education as traditionally constructed in the United State would not exist
